- How is the Brown County Homeless and
Housing
Coalition different than a shelter or housing provider?
The Coalition is a union of
volunteer
persons and organizations concerned with homelessness and affordable
housing
in Brown County, Wisconsin. It combines the talents,
resources,
and interests of many housing providers, faith based organizations,
social
service agencies, and private citizens to address issues important to
all
members. The Coalition is concerned with long range and “big
picture”
issues related to shelter and housing.
- What is the legal status of the
Coalition?
The Coalition is a non profit
corporation
with 501 (c ) (3) status. Donations to the Coalition are
tax
deductible.

member?

you. We are actively seeking additional members, individual or
organizations!
- Does the Coalition need volunteers?
We hold two events
during the
year that require volunteers, an information fair every fall and a
collection
for household items in area shelters every March. To volunteer,

- How does the Coalition raise its funds?
Membership fees
($25
per organization or $20 for a personal membership) and personal gifts
are the primary sources of revenue. The
Coalition also serves as a fiscal agent for grants and donations to
assist homeless families and individuals.
